How to get Involved for the Fiesta

Parents Get Involved!
Dear Parents
As you know our fiesta is scheduled for May 23rd – May 26th and your involvement and donations are what make this event a success. I know many of you have your own plans and your families have their own priorities, needs, time constraints and talents. The school and fiesta committees have tried to provide as many different kinds of opportunities for parental and community involvement as possible. It the games committee’s goal to make sure that our games attract many people and turn out a sizable profit for our school and church. To minimize out of pocket cost I have arranged a number of fundraising opportunities.
Each classroom will be assigned one game booth. This does not mean you are required to complete your fiesta hours at this booth. This assigning of the booths was solely to maintain organization. Each class will decorate their own booth with the direction of the decorations committee. I am in need of donations for each fundraiser and or prizes for our games.

I have arrange several fundraisers to be held in the school and after Mass. First a casual dress say has been scheduled for Friday May 3rd and two food sales on Sunday May 5th and Sunday May 19th from 8 am to 3 pm. Jamba Juice will also host a smoothie sale during our food sale on Sunday May 5th and during recess on May 8th. A pizza lunch has been schedule for Friday May 17th and a nacho sale for Wednesday May 22nd. All funds will go towards the purchasing of items and equipment for new games, improvement of our current fiesta attractions and purchasing larger more desirable prizes. Your involvement is what will make these events a success. Please review the volunteer opportunities and donation list suggested below for both the fundraisers and games booth and check any you are interested in — or tell us what you would like to do and/or donate. Then return the form to school.

In preparation for our annual fiesta we ask that you please select your top 3 choices below. We respectfully ask that every family volunteer a minimum of 15 hours. We will be assigning times to each family on a first-come-first-serve basis and we will try our best to accommodate your requests.

Families that do not return this form will be automatically assigned times. Families that fail to show up to a scheduled assignment will be fined $150. Please call the office should you have any questions.

En preparación para nuestra fiesta anual le pedimos que por favor seleccione sus 3 opciones a continuación. Respetuosamente pedimos que cada familia haga un mínimo de 15 horas de voluntario para la fiesta. Vamos a asignar tiempos a cada familia sobre una base de primer llegado, primer servicio y haremos todo lo posible por atender sus peticiones.

I invite you to share in our support for this year’s parish fiesta. The upcoming fiesta in May will bring the parish together through food, games, rides, and entertainment. The school is a direct beneficiary of the fiesta by receiving half of the proceeds from the 4-day event. I encourage you to become involved as a volunteer, assist in selling raffle and presale rides tickets, and help publicize this event to all of your family and friends. You will find information below that will help make this a successful event.

Raffle Tickets

We are asking each family to sell a minimum of one book of 20 raffle tickets. Families that have not met their fundraising quota will be given additional tickets to sell. All money and raffle ticket stubs are due to the school office by Tuesday, May 14, 2013.

Presale Rides Tickets

You may purchase presale tickets for the rides through the school or parish office. Presale ticket prices are 24 tickets for $12 (.50 cents each). These discount tickets are in limited supply and they will be sold until we run out.

Class Performances and Entertainment

We are now accepting sign ups from student performers who wish to participate in our talent show. Please encourage your child to share their talents with the community.

Each class will be expected to perform on the weekend of the fiesta. Please do not schedule any events on fiesta weekend to allow for your child to support the fiesta through their participation.

Please contact Mr. Serna (vserna@olgrosehill.com) if you or someone you know would be interested in volunteering for our fiesta. We need performers and entertainers of all types for the fiesta and your support will help us keep a seamless stream of entertainment throughout the weekend.
